Shenzhen Attractions

Shenzhen, abbreviated as Shen or nicknamed the City of Peng, is a sub-provincial city under Guangdong Province. Situated on the eastern bank of the Pearl River Estuary in southern Guangdong, it borders Hong Kong to the south, covering a total land area of 1,997.47 square kilometers. Founded as China’s first special economic zone in 1980, Shenzhen is a young, vibrant immigrant city with a short urban construction history, serving as a landmark window of China’s reform and opening-up.
It has a subtropical monsoon climate, mild all year round with sufficient rainfall.
